We Give You All The Glory – song story

I’d been leading worship in a prison, the men were full of joy and the time of praise was full of energy and expectation.  The Lord really turns up in places like prisons I’m always so blessed to be used in this way.  There was a lot of clapping and cheering at the end of the worship time. I joined in with the clapping and cheering which would have seemed strange to some of the men. I wrote this song to give God all the glory to acknowledge Him and His power at work in our lives.

Revelation 4 Verses 8 – 11.

Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” Whenever the living creatures give glory, honour and thanks to Him who sits on the throne and who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and worship Him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honour and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being

Isaiah 42 Verses 10 – 12

Sing to the Lord a new song
Sing His praise from the ends of the earth
You go down to the sea
And all that is in it.
You islands and you who dwell on them
Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voices
The settlements where Kedar inhabits
Let the inhabitants of Sela sing aloud
Let the shout from the tops of the mountains
Let them give glory to the Lord
And declare His praise in the coastlands.

 2 Corinthians 4 Verses 1 – 6

Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness, made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
